Tansania Moshi
Nicas Education, which started its operation in 2012, was founded by none other than Nicas Marandu - a young boy who has a soft spot in improving Kilimanjaro society. Nicas initially created the center aiming to help volunteers and travelers get the best quality yet low-cost accommodation in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. Aside from introducing a low-cost accommodation to travelers, Nicas Education and Technology Center originally aimed to give worthwhile experiences to all volunteers.
Now, the center focuses not only to be recognized as a great facility for travelers and volunteers but also to be known in Tanzania (or even in the whole world) as ‘a center whose main goal is to help students and kids who are in need.’
Who We Really Are And What We Really Do
Nicas Education and Technology Center is under Tanganyika Heritage Foundation Limited located in Arusha, Tanzania. The company is currently facilitating and managing volunteering activities, profit and non-profit activities and local capital investments, aiming to help those who need health and school support.
In collaboration with individuals and volunteers around the globe, Nicas Education and Technology Center helps lessen poverty in Kilimanjaro by supporting welfare projects, creating quality education to kids, and promoting or organizing tourism activities to raise money for the kids. Aside from these, the center also engages in agriculture cultivation of fruits and vegetables to make sure that there is enough food to be distributed to the kids of Kilimanjaro.
Here are some of the other things that we do aside from those that were mentioned above:
• We monitor and advise if there are major threats to wildlife and environment within Kilimanjaro
• We offer Swahili Language courses to short-term and long-term volunteers, with an option to either go for private learning or group learning.
• We help promote the tourism in East Africa, specifically here in Tanzania, by letting our guests and volunteers experience the adventure of mountain climbing, town tour, walking and biking in safaris or even do water sports.
Volunteering Opportunities:
As a volunteer, you will be tasked to teach English, Arts, Science, Mathematics or any other subject you feel confident in teaching. Aside from these, you will also have to coordinate play and sports activities to help children with their motor skills (motions carried out when the brain, nervous system, and muscles work together).
If you want to be part of the family, please call us at +255764338488. The center is open from Monday – Sunday from 8:00am to 6:00pm.
