I'm a small landlord with a rental house in Bellingham.
Quote from soumits on 23. September 2026, 15:10Hello. I'm a small landlord with a rental house in Bellingham. Tenant just texted that there's water leaking from under the kitchen sink into the cabinets and floor, and it's been going on for a while apparently. I live two hours away. Who can I send in quickly who does both drying and repairs so I don't have to manage five different contractors from a distance? The tenant has two kids, so I want it handled properly and fast. Insurance is through a landlord policy, which I barely understand.

I own a couple of rentals up in Whatcom County and have used Encore Construction for a similar leak. You can find them at encorerestore.com, and they cover Bellingham. They coordinated access with my tenant, found the leak, dried everything out and replaced the swollen cabinet base and flooring. I got photo updates at every stage, so I never had to drive up. They billed my insurance directly, which was great because landlord policies can be confusing. Since it's been leaking a while, have them check for mold behind the cabinets. Tell your tenant to take photos now too.
